Build your own sequencer shockwave with sequenceXtra and sequenceXtra behaviors.

Create buttons for Opening and Saving files

With sequenceXtra you can create open- and save dialogs without using the FileIO xtra. You can save files in two formats:

  • SMF - Standard MIDI Format. (sometimes called MID-files) Readable on QuickTime, Windows Media Player and almost all Music programs
  • SXS - sequenceXtra´s own format.
  1. Open the category "1 Song Handling" in the Library Palette
  2. Drop the "Create New Song" behavior on sprite 124 (the "NEW" button). Set Song ID to #Song1 (no space between "song" and "1"!!)
  3. Add the behavior "Open SXS-file" to sprite 125 and set Song ID to #Song1
  4. Use the behavior "Open MID-file" for sprite 126. Set the Song ID to #Song1
  5. Add the behavior "Save SXS-file" to sprite 127
  6. Drop finaly behavior "Save MID-file" on sprite 128

Wow! You have ceated your own sequencer. Maybe not as powerful as Cakewalk, Cubase and Logic, but definitely cooler. It´s free, it´s less than 100Kb and you can put it right on your website.
Note: When you are making the shockwave, please check that "save member comments" are checked in the "Publish Settings".

Congratulations! Now it´s time for making music!
